Associations and Organizations
The International Gothic Association (IGA) was established at the University of East Anglia in June 1991.  The Association unites teachers, scholars, and students from around the world interested in Gothic fiction, drama, poetry, art, film, and other forms from the eighteenth century on (including the prior sources of Gothic). Its purpose is to exchange and expand knowledge of and research on the Gothic as widely and effectively as possible.

Richmond's Poe Museum boasts the world's finest collection of Edgar Allan Poe's manuscripts, letters, first editions, memorabilia and personal belongings. The Poe Museum provides a retreat into early nineteenth century Richmond where Poe lived and worked. The museum features the life and career of Edgar Allan Poe by documenting his accomplishments with pictures, relics, and verse, and focusing on his many years in Richmond.
The Horror Writers Association exists to promote and protect the careers of professional horror writers and those seeking to enter their ranks, while at the same time using its best endeavors to raise the profile of the horror genre in the publishing industry and among readers in general.
